Daddies Make the Best Valentines

This past Friday night, there was much excited activity in our house.

It involved fingernail polish, curling irons and straighteners, dresses, and decisions on flats or high heels. It even warranted a visit from our favorite hair stylist and big sis, BethAnn.

What was this special event you ask?

It was of course, the annual Father/Daughter dance at our local elementary school.

I understand a good time was had by all and included a little hokey-pokey, macarena, conga-line and even the limbo.

Here is the proof of the fun. Look at these smiling faces.

Aren't these the most beautiful girls?

What a lucky guy to have two such gorgeous dates.

However the night was not completely without peril. Evidently an over-zealous dancer caught Lydia in the eye with her elbow.

Thankfully she was willing to smile through the pain in order to document the injury for her mom to see. Look carefully, don't you see the horrible injury? Look closer. Now do you see it? (Just don't ask me which eye, because I am not really sure.)

Thankfully the magic of Daddy's warm coat and some sisterly love made it all better.

They can't wait till next year!
